Found my Easter bunny. It was right where I hid it, in the fridge. Am still waiting for the fridge-fixer-guy.

Watched an amazing live stream Andrea Bocelli Easter concert direct from Milan Cathedral. Completely empty cathedral except for the organist. He sang the last part outside. The square was also completely empty.

Photos of empty streets from around the world were shown too – Paris, London, New York. It was the strangest sight. I kept expecting zombies to jump out at any moment.

But no, just the sweet sound of his voice filling those empty streets. Magic.

It is my firstborn and only child’s 21st birthday today.

Anyone from NZ knows that the 21st is a milestone and is usually a big celebration with family, friends, and a traditional yard glass. Well, we made do.

My daughter made herself a cake with candles, I bought cake too from the patisserie and the little cousins helped blow the candles out. They’d also made her a card. Nothing unusual. One slight difference was that it was all conducted via Zoom and there was no yard glass. We did have a celebratory wine. Happy 21st birthday.

Well its Easter weekend. We await the President’s announcement on Monday night about how long the lockdown will be extended for.

In the meantime it’s a holiday weekend so I guess I should make the most of it instead of worrying about transit borders. Think I might check out a different room in the apartment, go sight-seeing and stuff.

Might do an Easter egg hunt. The patisserie has got handmade chocolate eggs, rabbits and what look like footballs. So I can probably hide a few in the bathroom, the kitchen and the office.

It was 26 degrees today so I’m hoping it’ll be like that in the weekend. Then I can sunbathe in the car-park outside (no balcony).

Then there’s Netflix – I found a film that’s filmed in NZ – Falling Inn Love. How lucky is that? I can hear the accents from afar! Easter Sunday I can tune into an online mass. Might see if I can find some lamb in the supermarket.

But first will be celebrating Lucy’s 21st on Easter Sunday with an online family party at 9:30am. Time zones…must remember to buy cake. Happy Easter everyone.
